Macmasters Beach |
| This two-storey home was delivered through a collaboration between Ecologie Group Architects and E-Con Group for private owners seeking a relaxed coastal holiday retreat. The knockdown and rebuild was completed within a ten month timeframe and designed to suit its MacMasters Beach setting. The design focuses on open, light-filled spaces with large decks and raked ceilings to capture ocean views and sea breezes. The home includes four bedrooms, two bathrooms plus an ensuite, a kitchen, separate living and dining areas, a kids or rumpus room, laundry, and a double garage, providing practical space for family and guests. Sustainability was a key consideration throughout the design. The home features carefully modelled eaves and deciduous planting for passive solar control, a grid-connected solar power system, and a 16,000-litre underground rainwater tank supplying the home. Additional features include solar-heated hot water with gas boosting and gas underfloor heating to the ground floor and bathrooms. From concept to completion, the project brought together strong construction, a 6-star energy rating, and self-sufficiency systems to create a comfortable, durable home. The result is a well-considered coastal residence that balances performance, sustainability, and everyday living at MacMasters Beach. |
